This is a testament to all those who love music. We find solace in music. Almost like we find solace in a home. A home is not defined by the walls doors and windows. Its defined by the people who inhabit it. Cotton Press Studio is like home to any music lover. Because the people behind it make you feel at home… feel welcome. Its a place to open your mind and embrace the warmth of the sound and the company. I wouldn’t think twice in taking an opportunity to spend a few hours there just taking it all in.

The premise was simple enough, Nalini Malani wanted to re-imagine her previously hard panned stereo work ; “In Search of Vanished Blood”
mastered for the dOCUMENTA (13) in Kassel, Germany, into an un-traditional 5.1 phantom image, for Nalini Malani’s new canvas, The National Musiem of Scotland.
The music for the trailer was inspired by an old Assamese folk tune called

Sessions From The Press
Sessions From The Press is an original web series conceptualised by Cotton Press Studio in 2012.
SFTP aims to present the artists in the most transparent way possible to their fans. The only way we’ll see true artistic expression is by giving the artist the floor – they perform what they want, they say what they want and express themselves freely – no questions asked, no directions given.
All the videos are live recordings, with no overdubs in front of 15 of their biggest fans. The performance is recorded using top end analog and digital gear, in a space acoustically designed for bands.
CPS Productions is a one of a kind studio and production house, and we offer customized solutions to artists, musicians, bands, brands and companies.
I feel so lucky to have found Bombay’s best kept secret. It has given me time and space to create and most importantly provided me with access to other musicians I wouldn’t have met other wise. It’s quite simply my home away from home.
Kudos to everyone involved with setting up and running Studio CPS. Its an incredibly trippy place to make music in. Would definitely recommend this space to all those who love making music in Mumbai. Also love the little space upstairs overlooking all those trees in that abandoned plot of land

It was great to have silence in the noisy city of mumbai. It made such a big difference to have loads of different instruments out there and ready to experiment with when your writing cause usually its just me and a computer. I wrote the following songs at Cotton Press: “Overdone”, “Whenever, Wherever”, “Feel” and “Come To”
Would love to come back one day, really loved working here

You always know when a serious musical space (jam room, studio, whatever) has been put together by a Band. It will be comfortable. It will be quirky. It will sound great. It will have nice art. And it will have this one thing above all else – personality. JJ, Tanmay, Stuart, Al, Ryan… you guys have injected Studio CPS with everything that makes each one of you special. That’s why we’ll always want to work there!

Cotton Press Studios has got to be one of the most comfortable and creatively inspiring places I’ve had the pleasure of working at. The vibe out there is always guaranteed to get the creative juices flowing and the size of the place is a welcome break from the otherwise cramped rehearsal spaces in the city. I always look forward to Cotton Press rehearsal days.
